- Zenify uses your information only to run your budget for you.
- We don’t sell your data, show ads, or use tracking or analytics tools.
- Other Zenify users can never see your data.
- Your bank login goes to Plaid, never to Zenify.
- You can export everything or delete your account at any time.
What we collect
Your account
Your name and email address, and a securely hashed password if you sign in with one. If you choose “Continue with Google”, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
What you put in Zenify
Your monthly plan (income, bills, spending limits), categories, recurring bills, planned expenses, savings goals and deposits, notes, and transactions you add by hand or import from a file.
Bank connections (only if you connect a bank)
When you connect an account, Plaid handles the connection. You sign in to your bank inside Plaid’s screens; Zenify never sees your bank username or password. Zenify receives account names, the last four digits of account numbers, account types, balances, and transactions (date, merchant, amount, and category).
Imported files
When you import a bank statement file, we save the transactions you approve. For QFX/OFX files we store a one-way fingerprint of the account and transaction IDs to prevent duplicates, not the account number itself.
Face ID and passkeys
Face ID and fingerprint checks happen on your device. If you set up a passkey, Zenify stores only its public key, which can’t be used to sign in without your device.
How we use it
Only to provide Zenify to you: showing your budget, syncing transactions from connected banks, matching bill payments, suggesting limits and income, and keeping your account secure. We don’t sell or rent your information, we don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t share it with other users.
Who helps us run Zenify
- Supabase: hosts Zenify’s database and sign-in.
- Plaid: connects your bank accounts, if you choose to connect one. Plaid’s use of your data is covered by Plaid’s End User Privacy Policy.
- Expo (EAS Hosting): serves the Zenify web app.
- Google: only if you use “Continue with Google”.
These providers process data only to deliver their part of the service. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How we protect it
- Each person’s data is walled off at the database level, so one account can’t read another’s.
- Plaid access keys are encrypted and are only used on our servers; they are never sent to your phone.
- All traffic uses HTTPS.
- The app locks itself after you’ve been away for a few minutes.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you promptly if a breach affects it.
How long we keep it
- Your budget data stays while your account is open, so your history keeps working.
- Disconnecting a bank stops new syncing and asks Plaid to remove Zenify’s access. Transactions already imported stay in your budget until you delete them or your account.
- Deleting your account permanently removes your login and all of your budget data, including stored bank connection keys. To also remove the connection on Plaid’s side, disconnect your banks under Accounts first.
- Short-lived technical records are cleared automatically: bank connection sessions after 7 days, and bank update logs after 30 to 90 days.
Your choices
- See and export: download your data as a spreadsheet (CSV) or a full copy (JSON) from your profile menu.
- Correct: edit or delete anything you entered; recategorize imported transactions.
- Disconnect: remove a bank connection at any time under Accounts.
- Delete: delete your account from your profile menu. This can’t be undone.
Children
Zenify isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and we’ll tell you in the app before important changes take effect.
